Our Note the Vote Campaign
This Holiday season Lafayette Coming Together selebrated the season with a series of satirical (and serious) Christmas carols.
Lafayette Coming Together was privileged to serve as Santa's helper in this season of good will . . . for most of us. Santa (aka Kris Kringle) found a few Grinches that just didn't seem to share the spirit of the seasonat least not insofar as it concerns Lafayette and Louisiana. They've produced some Christmas Carols that express their take on the season and Lafayette. Our friend in Santa's office informed us:
You may not believe it, but Santa overheard the IT singers ("Incumbent Telecom") in a sound studio Friday cutting a Christmas album. They had taken the beautiful Christmas carols that you and I love, and had changed them, distorting their message, saying things that weren't true - that sort of thing. Well, I have to hand it to them - they are actually quite good at that sort of thing, as you know.
Anyway, Santa said he would forward me a copy of the secret tapes, and as soon as I can, I will pass them along. Have your email clients at the ready with the FORWARD button available to send this stuff around the world & show that there is still a fight for fiber going on in Lafayette, Louisiana.
If you think BellSouth should back off and leave us alone, we hope you'll let some people know -- and we've got a page devoted to helping you do just that. Just click and go.
One Way you could help is to join our campaign to
Note the Vote...
Help us spread the word! Pass the Christmas carols on to all your friends and colleagues. Attach a note expressing your own thoughts about BellSouth's unwillingness to "note the vote." Urge your friends to send the carols to everyone in their e-mail directories with notes about your displeasure with the delays and obstructions. And send them a link to our action page so they can join in all the fun. (http://LafayetteComingTogether.org/Act.htm)
